Why Become a

Member of TPSA?

The Importance of Membership

The Texas Process Servers Association (TPSA) is the oldest and largest state association of process servers in the United States. Formed in 1999 through the merger of the North and South Texas associations, TPSA has worked tirelessly to elevate the process serving industry by setting standards for professionalism, ethics, and education. In 2005, TPSA partnered with the Texas Supreme Court to develop the first certification program for process servers—creating the foundation that evolved into today’s JBCC certification system. Before this milestone, each paper had to be individually authorized by a judge under Rule 103. Thanks to TPSA’s efforts, Texas now has a structured certification process requiring education, training, and background checks. TPSA is proud to be a charter member of the National Association of Professional Process Servers (NAPPS) and continues to collaborate closely with them to strengthen the industry.

Note: Process servers are certified by the JBCC under the authority of the Texas Supreme Court, but are not representatives of the Court or the JBCC.
